Arty Sunday, peony and pet snails

Jamie wanted to do some gluing and painting today.
Jamie got to work on his piece......

Working on his masterpiece
"Blue sky, green grass and trees"

My beautiful peony that is growing in our garden, it is taken from a cutting of a peony my Nan used to have in her garden.

There are no pictures, but Jamie has quite a large collection of snails! Because of the wet weather they have come out in abundance, much to his joy. He tells us that they are his pets, they are in a bug pot, he feeds them and plays with them. Lovely!

A spot of gardening

We have had the trees cut down in the garden and it is amazing how much light floods in and the sun is back in the garden again. Jamie and Daddy were trimming the ivy back last night, it was a special moment watching them working together!

Jamie has been shopping!

Jamie has wanted football socks for quite a while now, we decided we must get some, when he kept wearing Daddy's socks as football socks, as it was a bit embarrassing going places with him, with his Daddy's socks up to his knees, he also wound Daddy round his little finger and persuaded him to buy him a Manchester United t-shirt and shorts set!

Sensory Dough

I made some organic play dough with essential oils. Even though I say so myself, I do make a good play dough! My secret recipe is: (shh don't tell any one!)

200g organic Plain flour
100g Lo salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tbs of olive oil
300ml water

You do not need to add colour, but if you would like to, you can add food colouring, but because I like to use natural colourings, I used beetroot water (boil a beetroot in water for 10 mins) for pink, and tumeric (2 tsp) for yellow, you can experiment with colours, blueberries, raspberries, etc.

The simple things in life!

I do love the most simple things in life, and that is what we decided to do! We packed a picnic, took tennis raquets, balls and frisbees and set off in the car to beautiful Brightwell, I love Brightwell because it brings me such wonderful memories of when I was little spending holidays and weekends at my Special, wonderful Nanny! (RIP Nanny, Love you so much and thank you for all the special memories and making me realise  you don't need lots of money to have fun and feel loved!)
