Bird scarers and pebble plant markers

Jamie and I popped to the allotment again. We set up the bird scarers to keep the rabbits away and to stop cats leaving presents in our freshly dug plot!

We marked our produce, we have planted with the pebble markers I made.

Another visit to the allotment

Jamie and I are on school holidays. We went to the allotment for our daily dose of fresh air. It was lovely spending quality time together and Jamie was a great helper!

Of course when you venture to the allotment you have to take your gun, you never know!

Jamie helping me.

We "scrumped" an apple from another plot, nothing like forbidden fruit!

Another decoration I made for the shed!

Some plant markers, as I know I will forget what we have planted and where!

Planting has begun!

Jim, Mum and I popped up the allotment and began planting some vegetables. We have planted garlic, red onions, and shallots in the plot Jim dug. It is a wonderful planting your own vegetables!

In the second plot we have half covered it with black plastic sheeting to help keep the weeds at bay
from the area we have dug. In the uncovered half we have planted peas and broad beans that are protected by cloches, the remainder of  the red onions and shallots we had left over have been put in.

Mum kindly cleared the coal bunker that was hidden under ivy and nettles, beside the shed. She also pruned the lavender bush right back as it was really woody.

We have covered an area in black plastic to see if it kills the grass before we dig it.

We had a visitor! Mr Robin Redbreast, he wasn't scared of us at all! He kept popping up and keeping us company. I hope he is a regular visitor to our plot.

I also put up some bunting and heart decorations to give the shed a little feminine touch! I love my "she shed"!

We inherited this little fellow, he makes me chuckle every time I see him. He is guarding the shed!

Work has begun on the allotment

Jim kindly started digging the first plot for our allotment. Thank you Jim! It is so exciting that we can soon start planting things to grow!

Kev kindly dug the second plot! He has numerous blisters to show for it! Thank you Kev, you worked so hard!

Two plots ready for filling with lovely produce!

I cleaned the shed out, I only squealed a couple of times, when I saw spiders! I also cleared the ivy away from the side of the shed and Kev cleared the pathway around the shed.

We have an allotment!

For a long time I have wanted an allotment. Well the time has finally come and we are proud owners of our own allotment. I am so excited. It is one of the things I can tick off on my bucket list!

We have lots of digging and planning to do, but on a positive note, we have a blank canvas and can get it to look how we want it to be, and think of all the good exercise!

We have our own little shed! It has a green living roof, which the previous owner did, it is covered with vegetation on a waterproof membrane. Very cool!

Apart from weeds, lavender is the only other growing thing in the allotment right now!

Jamie came down to check the allotment out, i'm hoping he will get into gardening and help me sometimes. Although I think some bribery will be involved!
